From June 23rd, 2025, submission of a “TUBERCULOSIS (TB) CLEARANCE CERTIFICATE / 結核非発病証明書“ is mandatory for nationals of the Philippines and Nepal at the time of COE application for a visa status which is subject to issuance of the Residence Card.

［NOTE］The following individuals are exempt from this obligation:
- Individuals who apply for the COE of a visa status which requires a medical checkup including X-ray for the purpose of TB clearance.
- Individuals who has been living outside the Philippines and Nepal and can certify the fact by providing the Residence Permit or other documents issued by the authorities of the resident country.
- Individuals who has submitted the COE application before June 23rd, 2025 already.
