“TUBERCULOSIS (TB) CLEARANCE CERTIFICATE / 結核非発病証明書” is mandatory for Vietnamese at the time of COE application

From the 1st of September 2025, submission of a “TUBERCULOSIS (TB) CLEARANCE CERTIFICATE / 結核非発病証明書“ is mandatory for nationals of Vietnam at the time of COE application for a visa status which is subject to issuance of the Residence Card.

［NOTE］The following individuals are exempt from this obligation:

• Individuals who apply for the COE of a visa status which requires a medical checkup including X-ray for the purpose of TB clearance.
• Individuals who has been living outside Vietnam and can certify the fact by providing the Residence Permit or other documents issued by the authorities of the resident country.
• Individuals who has submitted the COE application before September 1st 2025 already.
